Olive oil makes the soap very moisturizing. It has the ability to trap moisture and hold it close to the skin without clogging pores. It helps heal dry, irritated skin. Although olive oil stays close on the skin it doesn’t leave your skin oily. Olive oil gives a rich feel and helps create a very hard bar once fully cured.

Coconut oil is added for its skin healing benefits, to produce a hard bar and mostly for the luxurious lather it creates.  It is one of the most common raw materials used in the soap and toiletry industry.  Coconut oil comes from the seeds of Cocos Nucifera and is primarily cultivated from Southeast Asia and the Philippines.

[title size=”2″ content_align=”left” style_type=”single solid” sep_color=”” class=”” id=””]Palm Oil[/title]

Palm oil is also good for skin but its most important attribute to the soap is it creates a very hard long lasting bar of soap. Palm oil is produced from the fruit of the oil palm, or Elaeis Guinnesis tree, which originated in West Guinea. Our palm oil supplier supports sustainable palm oil production.

[title size=”2″ content_align=”left” style_type=”single solid” sep_color=”” class=”” id=””]Castor Oil[/title]

Castor oil is a thick, viscous liquid with a slight distinctive smell. It acts similar to glycerin, a humectant, drawing moisture to the skin.  It also contributes to thick, large bubbles.  Castor oil is extracted from the Castor Bean Plant.

[title size=”2″ content_align=”left” style_type=”single solid” sep_color=”” class=”” id=””]Shea Butter[/title]

Shea Butter will soothe and moisturize your skin.  It is obtained by cold pressing the seeds of the karite tree.  Our shea butter is a creamy white solid and has a neutral smell.

[title size=”2″ content_align=”left” style_type=”single solid” sep_color=”” class=”” id=””]Rice Bran Oil[/title]

Our Rice Bran Oil is rich in Vitamin E and anti-oxidants. This oil has long been used in Japan as a base for soap, skin moisturizer and protector. It is said to be an effective substitute for lanolin. Rice Bran Oil is especially used for treating dry and mature skin.

[title size=”2″ content_align=”left” style_type=”single solid” sep_color=”” class=”” id=””]Distilled Water[/title]

We use distilled water in all our soap. It ensures each batch turns out with no surprises due to minerals and other elements.

[title size=”2″ content_align=”left” style_type=”single solid” sep_color=”” class=”” id=””]Sodium Hydroxide (Lye)[/title]

If it is not made with lye it is not soap.

Lye occupies the smallest percentage of the soap mixture, excluding fragrance oils or color. It reacts with the oils in the saponification (soap making) process to make soap.  Lye is not harmful once it is made into soap. The oils are acidic and the lye is alkaline. In the process of stirring the oils, lye and water together, the bonding takes place causing the harshness of the ingredients to become mild and non-caustic.

We discerningly scent each of our soaps as follows:

  • No Scent—We omit any essential oils, leaving only the natural scent of the oils the soap is made with.
  • Lightly Scented—Enough essential oil you can smell it on the soap bar as you lather your skin. The majority of our bars our lightly scented.
  • Medium Scented—Enough essential oils to leave a gentle fragrance on your skin.
  • Heavy Scented Enough essential oils to leave a lingering scent on your skin for an extended time.
